Food for Indian Muslims

There are many Indian food stalls and restaurants in Malaysia.
But not all Indians in Malaysia are Hindus.
Some of them converted to Islam from Hinduism as immigrants in a Muslim country.
They are called “Mamak” and they do not eat pork and drink alcohol.

Their unique and original cuisine developed under the influence of religious practices.
Many Mamak food stalls offer a variety of food fused with Indian flavours,
such as Roti Canai, Roti Bakar, Teh Tarik, Murtabak, Thosai, Nasi Kandar, Nasi Briyani and etc.
